Thanks everyone, when I get brave enough I may give the cp another try but be more careful this time with the temps.
Topcat, I usually do get my bases from Aussie soaps but this one was a private sale and was really cheap ($120.00 for 23 kg) it was made through new directions.
I did purchase a whole heap of bases just recently that were cheaper than Aussie soap supplies but I kicked myself shortly after when I found out the ingredients in the stuf grrrrr!, so that was a BIG mistake on my part so I will be purchasing from Aussie soaps from now on.
OceanGirl: yep thats the same system I purchased, I was furious with it, i've only had it for about 6 months, when we recieved it the packaging was damaged, we got it out of the box and the wooden base was chipped and damaged, it was really dusty and the power light had come loose and fallen out of its fixture, we were going to send it back (which had to be at our expense) so I rung the business and gave them what for, turns out he's a "go between" apparently and the system is shipped through from overseas like china or somewhere, at least that's what he told me. I used the heat gun the other night on low setting and the fan in it looks like its already on its way out grrrrrr. I opened the system up and fixed it myself as I urgently needed to use it for an order so I had no time to waste.
Honor435; to be honest, i'm not sure if the mica comes off onto the skin, this is my first time i've used it but I know alot of people like to use it on their soaps so I figure if it does it sure would make ya skin look pretty (not something you would want if ya were a guy...I would think lol)
