I know jojoba is a wax. I only need 8t and it seems spendy to go buy a huge bottle at this point. Is there any alternative?

What do you need it for?

I've read that some people substitute FCO for jojoba but I don't know if that's an option for every application.

What are you using it in?

In soap you can sub (per K Dunn) cetyl alcohol or any other fatty alcohols. You can even try beeswax and other waxes.

They don't have quite the label appeal of jojoba.

If you're going for label appeal...then use avocado, sweet almond or something like that.

No other liquid oil will give you the same feel because jojoba is actually a liquid wax (you probably already knew that).

While jojoba is a wax, it has to be quite cold for it to solidify. In formulations it serves as a light-medium weight oil with a light, lovely skin feel. It is quite expensive these days! A nice alternative is Sweet Almond Oil, Meadowfoam Oil, or Apricot Kernel Oil. HTH!

I found a massage website that has a liter for 25.99. And they're local!

I need it right now for a cupcake bomb frosting. But I will be trying my first CP in 2 weeks.

I believe the other similar oil that resembles natural skin oils is Camellia oil ... you can order a small bottle on ebay ... I did ... just a couple of weeks ago. I love this oil! It really is nice on the skin. I definitely need more !!
It has a slight herbal scent to it though.
