I am going to a job interview tomorrow, 4 hours away from home. I am terrified. It will be 8 years since I last did a job interview, and the last time I did it was a phone interview so I didn't need to worry about finding the place, how to dress etc.

I think I am semi-organised, I have the required paperwork, I have an outfit picked out though I need to take up my pants and iron my new shirt. I think I know where I am going and how to get there. I need to clean my car as its full of hay from my goats haha

It is so nerve wracking!

Best wishes for a good interview. I don't do well in interviews, so know how you feel.

GL !!

I took a year off work. I do need to get on the ball and start looking again or go back to the Hospital I was at before.. but I don't want to

I have gone to several recently. Be prepared for "Behavioral" based interview questions. the STAR method is how you should respond. Situation Task Action Result.

Not trying to scare you but they want to know how you react in specific scenario situations. You can reply with any life event it does not have to be something you did on the job.

Google is your friend for examples. They keep score on how well you provide the STAR responses. Not the actual details of your example situation.

Good Luck

Good luck my dear! I feel your pain, I had an interview in December - my first job interview in 16 years! (I didn't get the job, but mostly because they posted the job as one thing when really they were looking for VERY different qualifications).

Good Luck!
Before I landed the job I am in now, I hadn't had to look for a job in over 9 years. I got laid off and was out of a job for 4 months, and in the 4 months had 3 interviews. It was completely nerve-wracking! All 3 places were in different industries, with different job descriptions so I had to prepare differently for each one.
I was very lucky though, and I'm sure you will be too!

UGH don't you hate when that happens??
That's what happened in the position I am in now. The job description was for records management, the job itself has NOTHING to do with records management at all (however, I do love it and am glad I'm here)

Exciting! Sounds like you’ve got your bases covered! While nerve-wracking, interviews, especially after not working for sometime, can be a great rush! So, yeah, be yourself and try to enjoy it!

Oh man, I had a job for less then 3 months after the Hospital and MAN was it EVER NOT what they said it would be..... not to mention taking advantage of sick people :( The day I went in to quit, he fired me (he already knew i was leaving) I didn't care, kept my mouth shut, left and will never look back.

Just make sure that YOU ask questions too

Primrose is in Australia, I don't think that applies here.

It does apply, but surprisingly they didn't ask any behavioural questions. I think it went reasonably well, they seemed really nice and like they would be fun to work with. Apparently I won't hear for 4-6 weeks so now just to wait and see
