Hi everyone. I'm making a soap series based on Jane Austen characters. So much fun! I wanted to post some pics.

In pic one on left is Sweet Jane, a yellow and natural soap swirl scented with lemon verbena. On the right is Mrs. Darcy, goat milk with plumeria (I used TD and ultramarine violet).

In pic two is all four in the series: Sweet Jane, Mrs. Darcy, Marianne's Passion (Black Raspberry Vanilla with a crackle swirl of TD, brick red oxide, and a bit of ultramarine violet), and Emma (yuzu and sweet orange, lifted from Anne Marie Faiola, though with different results; love how it turned out).

Some changes I think I will make for the next batches:

For the Sweet Jane, I will use TD to bring out the yellow more. I left it natural, and the yellow swirl doesn't really show.

For the Mrs. Darcy, I'm going to tape skewers to the bottom of the hanger like Celine Blacow suggests so I can have a more defined hanger swirl.

I think I'll leave Marianne's Passion and Emma as is (although I think I'll order calendula from somewhere else next time).

I was thinking tobacco as well, Shawnee. But I was thinking of this tobacco http://www.naturesgardencandles.com...plies/item/brett1/-Tobacco-Fragrance-Oil.html

But the caramel one sounds delicious.

I think yours sounds very masculine (and awesome, might I add) and mine is a bit more unisex...so its all up to interpretation for Dana! I picture Mr. Darcy as pretentious and someone who doesn't get his hands dirty, and who would be more interested in expensive "pretty" colognes instead of sexy masculine natural scents.

I don't use FOs, but when I ordered from WSP and I got to choose free FOs, this is one I picked because it was a dupe of Fresh's Tobacco Caramel cologne, which I had already smelled. Very unisex and not "foody" at all like the "caramel" suggests...just sweet and smoky and sexy. I think I'll make some candles with it...

Ah now I find Mr Darcy pretentious yet very, very earthy. I agree with the tobacco but not the caramel, I don't describe him as sweet in any way. If you were to add to the tobacco I would be looking at add English Leather (http://www.saveonscents.com/product_info.php/products_id/1315) a perhaps a small, very small dash of cherry to create a rich men's smoking room type of scent with rich leather, fabulous pipe tobacco and aged books.

I love the idea of a themed set of soaps.....

Love them...what an excellent idea! Maybe I should do a Harry Potter series!!! Oohh...and maybe someone could do a Fifty Shades one!! :)

And shall we name the soaps Christian, Ana, Katherine, and Jose, or shall we call them Seattle Sexy, Believe in Ben Wa, Secret Dungeon, Deflowered Virgin.... okay, can you tell I read these books?
