Thought I would come out and say hello. I had a really good idea pertaining to soapmaking and started researching how to get into this craft/hobby and found this site.

It is always useful to join a forum pertaining to what you are into as many people have a wealth of info.

I am primarily interested in making a basic soap utilizing the method of using potash. I have seen explanations and drawings of this process of creating lye water in this manner and plan on doing it this way like the first settlers did.

Hopefully I can update you all on my progress as I get into this.
