So hubby's scalp has been itchy and flaky lately and it's been driving him nuts! Is there something simple that i can whip up for him that will hydrate and also wash out easily for him?

thanks
Erin

I am going to try this recipe to start with, feedback is always appreciated and i will let you all know if hubby runs screaming or not. lol

Nourishing Dry Hair Serum

Ingredients:
1 once Coconut Oil
1 once Avocado Oil
2 once Jojoba Oil
5-10 drops fragrance or essential oils (optional)

Directions:
Mix oils in a 4 once bottle. Store in cool dark place. Use before drying hair.

I have been using a homemade shampoo for this very thing.

1/4 cup liquid castile soap
1/4 cup distilled water
1/2 teaspoon jojoba(or grapeseed or light veg oil)

Pour the ingredients into a bottle. Make sure you shake very well before you use it.

I use the 1/2 tsp of jojoba oil. It has really helped me.

HTH :)

Thanks MrsFusion, I may try that recipe too, are you using it as more of a hydrating shampoo for your hair?

I made the serum recipe i listed and put it into a little spray bottle for Dan, he seems to like it. I used 5 dr of tea tree and 5 dr of peppermint but added 5 more dr of peppermint at his request and he was happy with the scent. I tried it on my hair too, left it on for about 20 minutes and washed it out, it washed out easily and my hair feels soft and smooth.
