My cutter!

Pics enclosed. :)

Now hopefully this weekend I can make some soap :)

I am so excited to try it, spent part of the day unboxing, and tightening. IT seems solid as heck, so im not too worried. :)

Oh boy, oh boy! What fun! I've been salivating over these types of cutters for a while. Which brand did you get? What size bars does it cut? I can't wait to hear how it works for you. It's Christmas in July at your house!

What IS that?! I am very intrigued! I had no idea cutters like that existed! Please post some after pics so we can see how it works! :)

That's a beautiful thing! I have a wooden wire cutter and I LOVE it. Only drawback is that it has closed ends so I have to cut my logs in half first cause they are too long. I had never seen any other design before so it definitely pays to do more research before making a purchase like this. Looks like you picked a winner, enjoy your new beautiful clean cuts!

Hi Corinne! While we wait for Shalisk to cut and take pics of beautiful soap, here's a You Tube video of the "Tank" in action. Looks like fun plus a HUGE time saver! :p

Tomarrow is soap day (If I have time, room mates birthday) but there will be pictures, and perhaps, even video if I can figure it out! Just deciding on what soap to christen it. But yes, this is the tank from 'for crafts sake' it took NINE WEEKS for it to get here, and had a stupid high price tag of 329.00 (after shipping) ...But i figure if you are going to do it, you do it right. :)

* This is not to say that 'no other cutter is great' I am sure that ones hubbys have built are as good or BETTER (and not for sappy 'love reasons' lots of people buy hand made soap because of inperfections, or the fact its ALL done by hand) the 'done right' comment was for non handy people like myself I found the best I could :D

Congratulations. Tanks are a wonderful piece of kit to have around.
They are tough and make short work of hard soap logs - perfect straight cuts every time.
Purchased mine in 2008 I think, and it still has all original wires.

Relle, can I ask what brand you have? I need an adjustable cutter because I use various sized molds so cut some thinner and some thicker to maintain the bar weight I like. Yours looks amazing!

I so need to upgrade! I've been using the "hobby" version forever. And while I love it, I hate splitting my log to fit into it. ENJOY your new "toy"!!

Mine was made for me as a Christmas present from dh. I think he'd be happy that you have asked what brand it was :). Not sure that he would make another, took him a while to work it all out, then there's the varnishing.
