So I LOVE wine soap, and have sold a ton of CP using Nature's Garden Cabernet Sauvignon FO. It discolors to a very dark chocolate color, and to my nose smells like a mix of Grape Kool-Aid and cheap wine.
So tonight I tried NG's Merlot, which is said not to discolor. Well, it did, to a light slightly orange beige. I was prepared, and swirled with a merlot mica. We'll see how it looks when I unmold it tomorrow.
Next batch tonight I wanted to add a bit of boiled merlot wine to my buttermilk. Added a little Brazilian purple clay to the mix. Hmmm, same discoloration. I again swirled with merlot mica, and a little purple mica.
I was after something like this, Shawnee's, whose soaps are always amazing. I guess I'll have to try just EOs, but I still cannot for life of me figure out how she got the wine color to stick. https://www.etsy.com/listing/125728...ess?ref=shop_home_active&ga_search_query=wine
Anyone have any favorite wine fragrances that behave well in cp? I' tempted to try NG's White Zin but don't want a bubblegum sweet fragrance that doesn't really smell like wine. I really want to master red, white, and champagne. But not at at the rate of continued ugliness! Will post pics when they're unmolded and cut....
