Is this DOS?

I just sliced up a batch I made yesterday and in between two of the pieces is this off-coloured patch. The best I can diagnose is DOS but I thought DOS was something that happened at least after a little while, not next day?

Thats not DOS. Any chance this is HP? It looks like either a dried bit of soap or something that didn't get mixed in all the way.

Nope, it's CP actually. Hmm, I know all my oils were melted when I added my lye solution and the only other thing I added was some vanilla fragrance oil, could it have been from that?

Could be but it seems to be localized to one bottom corner. BTW did you use a vanilla stabilizer? Your white soap won't be white for long...

I didn't but I used what is apparently "Non-discoloring vanilla". I'm not kidding myself though and am prepared if it does start turning brown. I'm kind of intrigued actually to see just how much it will change

I've quarantined the 2 bits of soap any way for the time being to see if it spreads, and I heard it can transfer to other soap (?) so it's currently in a different room until I know if it will play nicely with the others
