Hey all. I just made a batch of peppermint soap, it smells awesome! I followed this recipe and was looking forward to a batch of gorgeous mint green soap! https://lovelygreens.com/natural-peppermint-soap-recipe/
Well... ok. Kinda followed the recipe.
I think my mistake was that I used different oils but followed the rest of the recipe. I love Soap Queen's back to basics recipe which is 8oz coconut, 11oz palm, and 15oz olive oil, which is what I used and somehow expected it to look the exact same as this lady's recipe. Duh...
It's in the oven now, but it's the most awful, sickly, opaque chartreuse color, I'm afraid I've created the ugliest soap in history! Is there any hope left for it? I don't have much experience with soapmaking and this is the first time I've used green oxide so I'm hoping, maybe in vain, for some sort of gel phase/curing miracle. Is the color now a good indicator of what it will eventually look like?
Thanks a lot!
