Is there an easy way to do perfectly straight lines?

The best option I know, is make batch oils, divide into 7, make lye, divide into 7, mix, color, and scent one portion at a time and pour, wait for it to set up...mix and pour another layer. Repeat.

Soap Challenge Club recommends bringing a slow-moving recipe to emulsion, then splitting it into the number of containers that you will use.

Right before you pour the first layer, stir in an accelerating fragrance to that cup only. Pour that layer. It will set up fairly quickly due to the accelerator.

Repeat for each successive layer, only stirring the accelerating fragrance into the container that you are about to pour.

Don't use any of the fragrance in the last layer if you are hoping to swirl the top. DO use it if you want to make a heavy texture on the top.

I always have problem with keeping my batter slow moving long enough so I take the long route when I did 5 layers: I divide my oils into 5 containers evenly, mixed my lye, divde my lye into 5 containers evenly as well, then blend with a frother. Using an accelrating fragrance or use accelerating oils like rice bran helps, but otherwise I just wait about 10 min between each pour, giving me the time to prepare colorants anyway.

For super precise perfectly straight lines (Moi? Belaboring the point? ), another option would be to weld cut pieces of soap together.

All of the above and a level. I read somewhere once that a soap makers counter wasn't perfectly straight... or maybe it was her floor, either way she used a level.

What a lot of work for a simple design. Not sure what I’ll end up doing at this late date. Been distracted by some necessary repairs on the house....noisy ones and it’s sucked my soapy motivation away.
