Ever since the first batch of salt soaps I made years ago I liked them so much I make almost only salt soaps since and that's why I bought the domain SaltSoaps, com and sell only salt soaps for now but I am planning on selling 2-4 non salt soaps on the website as well.

Is it bad business wise to sell mostly salt soaps and only a few regular soaps?

Would it be worth buying another domain for me to sell regular soaps and cross link the 2 websites so people can go from one to the other? I can probably also figure out how to make the shopping cart common to both websites so you can order soaps from both in one single order.

Or would it be best to simply have a regular soaps section on the SaltSoaps.com website despite the domain name?

Thanks

I think it's savvy to charge into Salt soaps. If they sell good just make more of them.

Or would it be best to simply have a regular soaps section on the SaltSoaps.com website despite the domain name? YES!

Ask yourself your questions, but answer them from the point of view of a shopper, not a business owner.

As an everyday kind of person who is browsing the internet and shopping for soap, would you perceive the salt and non-soaps soaps to be SO different that these products don't belong together in the same domain/website?

Depending on the answer, act accordingly.

I think you should do both if you want. You already stated that your main soap is a salt bar but that doesn't mean you can't have a variety of other kinds of soap. Someone who comes looking for salt bars on your site might also see that you carry XYZ bars too. One stop shopping. But that's just my humble opinion.
