Howdy everyone!

I'm Nikki, live in Georgia, been soaping for about a year now but within the last 8 months have gotten a little obsessed with it :D . I would like, like many of you, to eventually sell, but seeing as I just found DOS on a batch I made a few months ago, I still have some room for improvement!

I have over the last several weeks gone through all 470 pages of the CP forum. I haven't read every post, but I have read most of them and have learned so much from all of you I felt it was time to start posting myself!

Oh, and thanks to all that I've learned, I made an awesome first batch of salt bars tonight :)

Hi Nikki,

Welcome to the forum! :D

I'm very impressed that you had the initiative to go through and read older posts. I did the same thing and I know how time consuming it is to get through it all. Like you, I skipped some of them.

Congratulations on your first salt bar batch! I hope you'll post pics so we can see it.

Thanks, Hazel! I'm unemployed right now, so I've had copious amounts of time to sit and go through the forum. Plus I figured the best way to learn and pick up tips is see what others are asking :)

I agree with learning by seeing what other people are asking. Many times I had a question and was able to find the answer by searching the forum. However, sometimes you can't find an answer so don't be shy about asking questions.

I'm sorry to hear about your unemployment. I've been there. Hopefully, something will appear soon.

Welcome Nikki! :)

I did the same thing you've been doing when I first started out, or actually before I started out. It took a year of reading through the archives of 3 or 4 forums and building my courage up before I was finally able to get over my jitters about working with lye.

IrishLass :)
