Pooja

I live in Germany and buy my lye in the pharmacy. Most of the oils you can probably get in the store. I am afraid with this hobby though that you will have to order some things online.

Hey ,

Thanks for ur reply , so as per ur suggestion i should go n ask at any pharmacy near by , do they generally stock LYE ???

The pharmacy in my town did.. You have to ask for it and then they are required to tell you about saftey measures and so on.. 1kg costs around 8 euros. You van get eo's from the pharmacy too and special oils. It is MUCH cheaper online though. I order from behawe.com. They are in Germany. They are very friendly and deliver very fast have reasonable prices and have a great selection of supplies

Wow!
8€ per Kg???
I thought it was expensive when I bought lye over here at the supermarket for 2€ !
And yes, even at 2 € it is expensive. I got in touch with this company that sells bulk chemical products for the industry and they are selling it 99% pure for 1 € / Kg.
The problem is that they have MOQ - is this case, 25 Kg
But 25 kilos is not a really a problem, at least with this price :)
And yes, I have to agree with Jezzy. You will end up buying on-line. It's the only way...

Everything from the pharmacy is expensive.. i buy my lye online now too. Still expensive compared to what you are paying but better than what I was paying. All the lye that I can find in the grocery store here is mixed with additives. :-(

Yes, you have to look out for additives, we have both types on the supermarket : 99% pure NaOH or with some blue crystals in it (to tell the truth, I believe those are just so that they can sell it for 4, 5 € - but that's just me...)

gut abend
(I hope I got it right)
:D

Hee hee guten abend.. Almost! I am an american though... I just live here

Oh, sorry...
Well, I thought it was a bit suspicious a german writing such great english (excuse me, all you english-speaking germans- I'm sure there must be some, though I never met one  )

Hi,

I also live in Belgium, a small town near Antwerp. I've been soaping with m&p for almost 2 years now and I want to take my chances on making CP soap now. I bought my lye in Kruidvat, it's a white bottle with some green in it (eigenmerk gootsteenontstopper) You can find essential oils in Essenza. You can find a small amount of soapcolors and soap scents at De Banier. I also got some good suppliers in The Netherlands (Soapqueen and Avant Garde)

Hi Jezzy,JP4 and Lesley

Thank u all for ur help , I checked our few pharmacy here but then no luck :(

Guess will have to order online ,any suggestions for fast delivery website???

Behawe.com is based in Germany and ships worldwide. When I order there i sometimes even get my order the very next day. Thats how fast they are! They have a lot. Shea butter and lye..

If you don't want to order from there try ebay or amazon.

Good luck!

Hi,

I just moved to Brussels recently, and would like to make some m&p soaps. Where do you buy your soap bases from for m&p?
