put it in a box and tape it shut. set box off somewhere out of the way in your house and if you don't use anything from it within 3 months of the date you taped it shut, take it to good will without opening it for any reason!

Good for you!

Part of the reason I took up a new craft (soaping) was because it was too demanding to step into my hoard of associated craft supplies. My yarn is probably the worst offender. I don't know how many skeins I have, I dare not wonder at the dollar cost that is snuggled together in large bins in my closest, I won't even face the hideous orange yarn that I keep around EVEN THOUGH I DON'T LIKE IT because someday I will find that perfect project to use it in.

le sigh

you are a brave soul

i did a major clean out when we moved and i looked at my endevors this way, if i can't use it, don't love it and it is taking up space then i let it bless someone else.

I also commit to not buying any more long denim skirts from 2nd hand shops because I NEVER end up wearing them, and they ALWAYS end up being stored for 'that patchwork quilt' I've had in my mind to make for the last 4 years! :roll:

I've done this with jeans...I just need to acknowledge and move on....:lol:

I'm the kind of fabric ho that's just turned a few tricks and is probably about to go hardcore even though she knows she shouldn't... if you catch my drift. What it is about those darn fabric stores they promise so much....

However, I am the Jenna Jameson of candle ho's. (yes, I know that she's not TECHNICALLY a 'ho"... but you know what I mean... and don't judge me for knowing who she is... I've seen the E! True Hollywood Story, yeah... that's why ;) ). I have a whole candle cupboard, I keep (read "kept" since I'm making my own now) buying them, but I hate/love to burn them because I don't want to "run out."*

*yes, I know I went a little nuts with the ellipses in this post.... deal with it! 8)

kittywings= fabric/candle/ellipses ho

I too am a serious horder! I have LOADS of fabics, card making stuff, jewellery making suff, chainmaille suff, and now .... soap making stuff. If I took all my 'stuff' out of my house, we wouldn't need a bigger house! ....... hmm - there might be an idea in that!

But I did a HUGE clearout of my beads, and sold over £400 of it! :shock: And I still have LOADS left to put onto the website to sell. So I kindda know how you feel kittywings!!

I had a Ginormous cleanout,sold a heap of wool on ebay(some of it I'd had 15yrs!!! :shock: ),gave a truckload(slight exaggeration..did say slight lol) of fabric to a friend,& all the clothing I couldn't bear to part with cos the fabric was too gorgeous to ditch(lol artisan :) ),I gave to lifeline.
Last week,found a perfect pattern for fabric screens,went searching for the perfect fabric..guess what??? nuh,not there,gave it to lifeline. Today I wanted little fabric bags for heat wheats...got some of those somewhere thought I...no,sorry,all gone......CAN'T WIN :lol: ..time to start hoarding again :D

LOL, I've had this HUGE bag of perfectly good clothes to give away/sell in my closet/trunk (it alternates) for a few months... I know as soon as I get rid of some stuff that I'll wish I hadn't. :oops:
