Just getting started- I've done a few very basic pours with goat milk and olive oil M&P bases.

So here's the deal. I'm a bee keeper. I'd love to know what YOU would do with honey. (Not a honey base- honey added to bases.) I already make mead with my honey, but thought soap might be able to use it as well.

Again, just starting- so for now, it will have to be something that can be done with M&P bases. If I get more advanced, I may poll for other ideas.

Thanks very much for any ideas you'd like to let leak out of your heads!

Be well

You can add honey to mp base. Honey added to clear makes a pretty yellowish/amber. I'd stick with like 1/2 an oz of honey per lb of soap base though. Otherwise it can make soap base sticky.

I actually made a mp the other night and used this ratio. I did 2lbs of shea butter mp base, 1/2 cup plain unscented lotion, and 2tblsp of honey. The resulting bars are softer than mp usually is for me, but not at all sticky-the added lotion may have helped with that, though I'm not sure. They're awesomely moisturizing though, for me anyway.

So how did your honey M&P work out, uncleflip? I just ordered some honey bee molds - I want to fill the bee cameos with white double-butter M&P and fill the rest with honey soap. I'm curious to know what you came up with, now that you have had a couple of months to experiment!
