I am never going to get swirling down! Gah!!!! I thought today would be no sweat. I made Genny's shampoo recipe, minus the shea butter so it was all soft oils. Let the lye cool to almost room temp, mixed to very light trace, divided the batter and when I was adding my pre-mixed color I noticed it was starting to set up. By the time I had my two colors ready to go back in the main pot (ITP swirl attempt) it was pretty damn firm and the soap sat on top instead of mixing in the batter. Gave it a quick stir, poured and then ran a bamboo stick through to attempt to get something other then just blocks of color throughout. I have a feeling it's not going to turn out that well. So frustrated. I can't figure out why it moved so quickly. NO FO or EO!! The only thing I can think of is I infused the olive oil with herbs. Any chance herb infused oil will speed up trace?

Wow I'm so sorry. I noticed most of the mixes I do setup very quickly. I need to learn when it's a true light trace and let'er rip from there.

What herbs did you use to infuse?

That sucks. I curse profusely every time that happens to me. I try to mix to emulsion instead of trace to give me more time but sometimes the batter still moves faster than I can explain. It's happened a lot lately too. Don't know if weather plays a part of what but it is sooooo frustrating!
