I've been asked to prepare wedding favors for an upcoming wedding. I want to make a big batch of soap, and then split it up so I can make small samples of different scent/color combinations.

If I make a big batch of my regular base soap, can I melt down and color/scent small batches of it?

If I do so, when does the curing happen? Before I remelt, or after I've poured the sample molds?

Do I need to add any more liquid to it?

Thanks!

That sounds like an awful lot of work. If it were me, I'd just make a bunch of small batches, probably not less than 2 pounds each. Rebatching is a b%*@h.
