Going through my soaping cabinet I've found some left over oils and wondering if anyone has a good recipe. Here is what I have:

Pomace Olive
Coconut
Soy
Castor
a tiny bit of Hazelnut
Lard

I've ran these through soapcal but can't seem to come up with a great bar of soap. Any ideas??

Thanks in advance :)

Since no one jumped into help with me with the previous recipe PERHAPS I can get some feed back on this one.

My question is what level superfat should I do with this:

15.3 Olive
15.3 Lard
12.8 Coconut
5.1 Palm
2.5 Castor

ANY feedback would be highly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

looks like the combination of oils that you have would work very well for a bar.... what units are you using here? ounces? grams? just a bit confused by that! I must have missed your post completely before.. sorry no one has replied yet... its should be a nice hard bar ... I love castor oil in soap.. palm s[eaks for itself... the only thing Id have to say is maybe youd want to choose either lard or palm oil...they can sometimes be substituted for eachother as they are both rather saturated I would maybe try Olive/Lard/CO/Castor or Olive/Palm/CO/Castor... thats just my opinion though...

As far as superfatting I would say about 6% should be fine... I usually try to stick to 6-8% SF

Hope that helps!..

Also..if you would like I can plug your numbers into soapmaker 3 and help you with the output if youd like...just let me know!

Thanks for getting back to me Ian. This is a hard group to break into, no? lol.

I'm weighing out in ounces, sorry for the lack of info on that.
I have been searching for a well balanced bar and this is the closest I've been able to come up with so far. I picked up some non hydrogenated palm locally which I think has a weird almost chalkyish consistency to it out of the tub but anyways...I would like to use that in this recipe. Could you run it through?
In short I'm trying to get a great moisturizing *Colorado winters suck*, bubbly hard bar
Mucho Gracias!

lol not so hard.. I think that sometimes there are so many posts that some may get pushed down the list and then missed (at least thats what it was in my case... I usually use the "view last posts since last visit" link on the top right of the main page... but I have been in and out as this has been quite a busy week (currently unemployed so I ve been out sniffing out jobs aalllll day everyday!)....

be right back... let me plug it in!... I hate winter too lol.. originally from NY i had to move to FL cuz the gray days made me so depressed...aaaaand I wanted to go to college somewhere nice and warm in the winter... drew a line on the latitude of the average winter low temps... 70 degrees was my lowest acceptable...Orlando, FL it was! :)

do you want me to plug the recipe in as is or minus the lard like i was suggesting? either way let me know :)

Best of luck to you in the job hunt :) I'll send good mojo your way!!
Would you plug in minus the lard? This batch is for my cousin and when I think about it..she may be a little freaked out if I tell her it's made with **Lard** I actually like it in my soaps but that's just me. You can see some of my soaps at justbesoap.weebly.com if you'de like

Thanks for all your help.

BTW-A low temp of 70 sounds wonderful!! Today it's suppose to get up to 47 here!! I may just break out the flip flops. Haha
