Well I tried to make up some goat's milk and oatmeal lotion and cream for our eczema patches and rashes and within 5 days of making it I picked up a bottle of it and it felt rock hard to touch. So I started to unscrew the cap and it came gushing out around the cap and I quickly resealed it. My hubby seeing this picked up another bottle of it and as I was saying "Don't open it!" he pressed down the cap button to open it and it shot out in a stream that hit the ceiling, boxes sitting nearby and the floor.
It was funny but scary as well. We threw out all the lotion bottles I'd done up and I put a notice on my FB since I'd had 2 people get 4oz bottles from me on Friday night.
The organic oatmeal I ground into powder and let sit in the reconstituted Goat's Milk that I had on the stove and heated to 120F hoping to infuse the oatmeal goodness into the milk and not leave the powder actually -in- the lotion and then strained and let cool before using. I bottled this and kept it in the fridge for 3 days due to high pain days keeping me from using it the same day. I used goat's milk/oatmeal liquid and I used it in place of plain water and did the heat and hold at 170F as well when I started making the lotion. Once cooled I added Phenonip then let it sit overnight to fully cool.
ETA: The creams started expanding and oozing out from under the lids this morning too. So what's happening? Fermentation?
