I'm going to assume that you can't use a crock pot for food again after using for soap?

Has anyone tried using those crockpot liners when making soap?

I have no idea about the liners but yeah, it is not recommended to reuse the crockpot for food after you soaped in it. I would suggest checking the goodwill stores or thrift shop for cheap crockpots or even a garage or yard sale.

I reuse my crockpot for food all the time. I do have a dedicated crock for HP but when I do rebatch, I often need to use my biggest crock. I don't mix my scent in the crock though, I spoon my soap into a large bowl to scent, then into the mold.

It's soap, exactly the same thing you use to clean the crockpot. You can use it for food.

I would not use the liners for soap, but I think some people have. I would use the crockpot for soap and then use the liners for food. I like using the liners for food, anyway, much easier to clean the soap out and toss the food-crusted liner.

+1 on using my crockpots for liquid soap and HP, (no scents though) and food.
I even got a seperate smaller one for soap, and hubby commandeered it for stew as soon as I was done making liquid soap in it. Hey it's clean :)

Aye, eo would be my biggest concern. And by concern, I mean that you food might taste a bit of dragons blood!

Not harmful per se, but also not so ideal.

If you mix scent in something else (as above) then no problems. It's going to have soap and oil traces - oils we eat and soap we use for cleaning anyway

Good idea about using the liners for the food and bare for soap. Thanks!!

I got mine at Salvation Army for $2. If necessary, I would use it for food. I got a seperate crockpot for soap b/c I didn't want to risk a soap spill ruining a good crockpot.

The liners do work but no SB; I found out the hard way. It still means one additional pot to clean, but a light stainless pot is easier than a bulky crock.

I'm not seeing a problem using the same one, as long as you do it at separate times. Soapy Stew or Castile Chili probably isn't gonna make you any points with the family. :)

We cook with all sorts of oils, vinegars, spices etc. and think nothing of washing the pot out and using it for the next meal. Clean it up well and you should be good to go.
