My name is Jonathan, and I am a wannabe.
I've ve been buying soap making books for a couple years now (a year and a half ago, I bought my fats and lye), with the full intention of starting tomorrow.
Literally dozens of tomorrow's have come and gone and still can't get past this block. I have never considered myself as lacking in confidence, yet here I find myself just feeling unprepared. So, this afternoon I am going to my storage unit getting a few utensils and am going to craft my first batch of Castile Soap.

Welcome and good luck. That first batch was the hardest for me.

Welcome and good luck!!! Just jump in and do it. It's really not that bad. I felt the same way at first though but got over it very quickly and it has since become an addiction.

My first batch was incredibly simple (75% oo and 25% co with lavender EO, slow to trace) and it was actually quite a bit easier than I thought it would be. I was so proud when it turned out to be.....soap!

Choose an easy recipe and you'll be fine, and then you'll have the confidence to make more and experiment. Have fun!
