Hi! I want to try adding a MP drop swirl into my CP. When adjusting for mold size, do I comsider the MP as an additive? Or, do I just subtract the amount of MP I'm using from total oil weight. I'm using a 10" silicone BB. Any suggestions using the MP would also be appreciated. Instead of gelling as I have been, do I need to place this in fridge?

Your plan of subtracting the amount of MP from your total oil amount looks doable to me.

If it were me, I would gel it. My experience of using MP in CP has taught me that gelling it is a very good idea if you want to avoid the MP separating from the CP.

Thank you so much for replying! I was worried that gelling it would melt the MP, most particularly the embeds on top. Do you use the low sweat clear MP? I wasn't sure, but I saw a recipe from soap queen and she doesn't specify. She just states clear. How much would you reccomend using for a drop swirl in MP. 6oz?

If my own batches are anything to go by, the MP won't melt in gelled in CP soap- even my MP placed on top has come out perfectly fine.

I've used both regular and also low-sweat MP and it didn't matter- neither melted in my gelled soap.

If I were making a 2lb loaf, 6 to 8 ounces worth of MP for a drop-swirl would actually be perfect.

Does soaping temp matter when doing this? I have been soaping on the cooler side.

I've soaped as hot as 125F with MP embeds and all came out well. :)
