I usually use brambleberry's fragrance calculator but haven ventured out of my comfort zone to purchase a scent... This is the scent.

In the box it says for soap "Maximum Use 5%"

Is this 5% of my total weight or max of oils? Say I do a batch of 20oz of oils. How much fo?

Hi Jessrof! :wave: The maximum usage is for your total oil weight. For example, if all your oils weigh 20 ounces. The lye solution is not included in this calculation for the lye is the reactant and the water is the solvent-carrier which eventually evaporates. What is always constant is the weight of the oils - which eventually changes to a salt due to the lye reaction. So, for your example of 20 ounces you multiple this by the maximum 5% and the total is an even 1 ounce. (20 ounces X 5% {or 0.05} = 1.0 ounce )

Sometimes your amount of FO's does not come out perfectly even. You can always drop the amount down to an easier measurement depending upon your scale.

I use this fragrance quite frequently as I really like it and it sells well too. I use it at 1 oz per pound of oil as it does fade a bit in CP.
