How much chocolate to add and how?

Do you mean chocolate as in a bar of chocolate? I've never done that, but I've used cocoa powder. I used between 15 and 50 grams per 2.72 kg(96oz). I mostly used it for the scent but it's also good for making a nice light brown bar of soap. Too much and your soap will be scratchy. I'm interested to hear from others who have used actual chocolate.... this is a bump.

Wouldn't using cocoa powder (as additive) and cocoa butter (as oil) technically be making chocolate while simultaneously making soap?

Sorry, I know that doesn't really answer the question - I just like to partition things in my head.

I think it would in a way: thank you wikipedia. I've never used chocolate bars, but maybe you could calculate how to use unsweetened chocolate based on how much of it is the fat.

It's so long since I did this, but think I put in 1 tbsp. PPO. It wasn't appreciated very much because the soap left chocolatey marks on the vanity after using it, so I haven't made it since. Melt it and just add at trace.
