I have a mold that makes cubes that are just over 2" and I think they are great in the shower but not many other people I know seem to like that shape.

Do you and/or your customers (for those that sell) like cube shaped soaps?

Thanks

I agree that a cube wouldn't feel comfortable in the hand and would be difficult to use. How would you roll it around to work up lather? I like the standard rectangle and, even though I like the look and concept of the fancy swirled tops, I don't find them nearly as comfortable in the hand as the boring old flat-topped rectangle. About 2 1/4 wide and about 3 inches long, 1-1 1/2 inches think. Any thicker and it's harder to control, for me. If you have smaller hands, a thinner bar or slightly smaller would probably appeal.

It wouldn't work for my small hands, but I love the look of them..

Same here. I really like the unique look but they are just to awkward for me to use.

I hate using cube soap and ball soap. I like more surface area on my skin, I feel it takes forever to wash all over, and it's not a comfortable shape to hold either.

That shape photographs amazingly well, but I agree that it's not easy to wash with.

I tend to fold my washcloth in half then wrap the double layer around the soap and rub the bar from both sides at once when I'm soaping up my washcloth. If I don't do it that way, I drop the bars a million times in the shower. I think a cube or a ball would work fine for me in the shower but for hand washing at the sink, I can see how it could be awkward.

While I find a square of soap appealing visually, It's a difficult shape to hold onto with wet hands. I prefer something that fits in the palm of my hand better. My family likes it when I cut my soap loaf slices in half from top to bottom. It makes a size and shape that's easy to hold.

Cube soaps are difficult to handle, no doubt about it.
But they remind me the traditional Marseille soaps which I find very good looking.

I would like to make my own big cube soaps but I cannot find any cube mold here. :-(

I actually like the idea. I don't hold onto my soaps, so the odd shape really does not bother me. I suds mine on a loofah or a washcloth. -shrugs-

I love the cubes and make them sometimes. But I rub the cube on my shower pouffe so I'm not trying to lather it in my hands.

Sapwn, I just use 1 litre juice or milk cartons (tetrapaks) for the cubes.

I use any box I find lying around to put the carton in, so the sides don't bow out.

I love big huge cubes of rustic soap. Gorgeous.

i like cube soaps, they are def appealing visually, and i dont have a problem using them in the shower as long as the cube is not too big. i have a silicone cube mold, and the cubes are pretty small, just a tiny bit less than 2". still looking for ideas on how to use this mold..

btw, the marseille soaps are VERY pretty! vintage looking and all, just lovely..
