about how long does your typical 4-5oz bar of soap last in the shower?? i use mostly lard in my soap which makes it a little bit harder.

i cant use the same one everyday! but hubby does, 3wks or so. Hp less i think.

I have no clue because I never stick to just one bar... I also tend to use the ends and tester bars for myself, which of course aren't as big as the standard bars.

ok great, i was just curious because i figured it would last about 2-3 weeks which is about the same amount of time my lasts. does anyone have any tips on how to lengthen the life of a bar?

thank you!!!

Bigger bars?
Just kidding...

I've found that if you add Stearic acid and even myristic acid and lauric acid the bars tend to be a bit firmer and last longer.

I use soft oil BDG so sometimes it helps to add those... The bars without hardening ingredients only last a week or so.

a long cure

Curing longer will lengthen the life of the bar. Right now my husband and I are both using a lavender bar I made in early September. We both use it everyday, it's been in the shower for a week and hasn't shrunk in size much. When we used the same soap after only an 8 week cure, it only lasted a little over a week.
