We are finally finishing the shopping cart feature on our website.
I sell at local farmer's markets and shows and want to have items available online for customers who continually ask for a website.
It's a custom wordpress site and we're using a shopping cart plugin that we can edit. My question is how do you calculate your shipping?
I am using paypal and you can automatically charge shipping based on cart total, item weight, etc.
Do you actually add the weights of all your items and figure out what the post office would charge to ship that? Or just use a flat rate, for example $6 for totals $0-50, $10 for $50-100, etc?
I'm thinking the flat rate based on totals would be a lot easier, but I don't want to not charge enough and eat the extra shipping costs either. I keep my product prices very low and reasonable so can't afford to lose on shipping.
Thanks for any help!
