Hot process

I accidentally added oats snd fragrance right after trace and before cooking my soap. Will it be usable?

I don't do hot process very often, but I don't see any reason why your soap won't be just fine. Your fragrance will probably be very mild as it cooked off. But your soap should be fine to use.

I'm sure someone else who knows better will chime in soon too.

Yes, the soap should be fine (assuming all the lye and oil measurements were correct).

To preserve more of the fragrance, you could also choose to skip the hot processing and pour it into the molds now. Of course, if you used lots of water, it will be a very soft soap without cooking some of it off.

Your soap should be fine! The oats will add a nice texture but the fragrance might be milder due to the cooking. It’s still perfectly usable, great job experimenting!
