Horrible fail....

Ok....sooooooo....tried to make exploding soap....first time ever making bath bombs....yeah....horrible fail. My bath bomb stuff started heaving (no other word for it) and I just gave up....packed it all in a mold and threw it in the freezer....

It's not really holding together....but it stopped heaving.

I did discover that Bramble Berry's "Toasted Rice" FO smells awesome though. I cant stop snorting my hands hehe.

I'm pretty sure I know what I did wrong, so I'll try again tomorrow.

Teagan, I had a good laugh at your descriptions of "Heaving" and "Exploding", my first thoughts were of this BIG fizzing outof control bath bomb taking of the country.

I'm sorry about your heaving morphing mess, you're not alone, with all my bomb attempts yesterday my work room, kitchen and oven looked like world war 3, oh i'm so glad I have a patient husband that doesn't mind my "scientific messes" haha.

I assume you are packing bath bomb material into MP soap? You need to let the soap dry completely before putting the bomb stuff in. and make sure you don't overdo the liquid in the bomb portion.

Yeah I am. I kinda figured that's what it was. It was my understanding that if I froze the base I'd have plenty of time to pack in the stuff, then freeze it....then pour the top layer and freeze that. I also dont think my bath bomb was the right consistency, it was still too powdery and fell apart too easily...so when I poured the top layer it seperated a bit....hard to explain. Lets just say I ended up with a "cup" of soap filled with heaving bath bomb and a soap "lid" hehe. I'll try again tonight and hopefully have better results.

freezing the base won't buy you time. sorry. actually it could create a nightmare for you, if moisture from the air condensed on it when you took it out.

I wonder if that's why I was having issues. I decided to skip doing the bombs tonight and just make some soap. I'll play around with just getting bombs right before I jump back into doing exploding soaps. Thanks for the tips. I'll keep them in mind when I attempt it again.
