So I'm "designing" a creative kind of soap mold that takes many different styles and combines them into one mold. However I would like tomask those thst have hinges on all 4 sides of your mold what you use to keep everything clasped together. I would like to make something flexible and easy to put on and remove, much like the one in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=162JikRH8U0&feature=youtube_gdata_player
However I'm interested in hearing what others have used or maybe even see some pictures. Thanks in advance. I'll be sure to post some pictures of my new mokd once it's done!

i personally would hesitate to use wood in this design, as wood can warp, messing up your seams. And the single band they put at the top wont aide you in warping in the middle or bottom of the seams. No matter how good you are at mitre-ing, it can still warp. I personally like the no-line molds made of the pvc type material that are held together by three bolts and wing nuts. good luck though!

My husband made me a small 2 lb mold with four hinged sides, but I use a silicone liner with it and it was designed with that in mind. I love the ease of getting my loaf out of it. However, I cannot line it with paper to save my soul. (Though to be fair, I'm not sure if that's a failing of the mold or of me!)

I'd also be concerned about warping as My Mountain Soaps stated.
