I started soaping last year I made this recipe so far I like it. 20% c.o, 20% c.b, 5% castor 20% Shea and 30%olive and palm oil at 5% The longevity is good at 31 but the creamy lather is 36 is there anyway I can bring it down without compromising the already formula?

The first question I will ask is why you want to lower the amount of lather? Most people love a lot of lather.

To your particular question, you could lower the amount of the particular ingredient that is causing the lather.

Just change the percentages of each ingredient on your soap calculator and see what the difference it makes in your lather number. However you won't know for sure until you make the new recipe and try the soap.

Are you using any additives that are not part of a soap calculator list? Like sugar or sodium lactate. Personally I would not change anything but that is my opinion. Good luck

Edit: 36 is a great in between number for lather but remember that when you adjust one ingredient, you may get a number for another trait that you don't want.

I’m adding honey ppo, sodium lactate ppo, clay, oatmeal milk and oatmeal powder

None of the additives that you are using will cause a lot of lather but I'm not sure about using clay with the other things you have listed.

You will just have to try adjusting your percentages until you get a lather number that you like.

I was playing with it and every time a change a number everything changes... I don’t think there’s a way around it as for now my longevity is 34 and creamy lather is 38.... I think I will leave it like that. Thank you so much for your help happy valentines day

I know what it's like to find a recipe you mostly like and not want to tweak it too much. I have a couple of thoughts. I normally don't like to soap with a lot of butters because I find the lather to be lotion-like and creamy. My wife loves it though. I recently experimented with a lot of butters and increased the coconut oil (for the bubbles) and I was pleasantly surprised at the bubbly lather. Note a lot of people caution using more than 25% coconut oil but I live life on the edge. It was
12% avocado
4.5 castor
30 coconut
23.5 rice bran
15 cocoa butter
15 shea butter

I find soaps high in olive oil to be too creamy for my taste. Have you thought of substituting other liquid oils like rice bran oil or avacado? Good luck,
