Hello everyone :). My name is Jamie and I am 20 years old. I started living with my boyfriend a year ago and we have both decided to take on our own business ideas and hopefully turn them into something that we could end up passing down to our children. Long story short, his business (an e-cig accessory company) is proving to be successful. My business, on the other-hand, is ...well, non-existent at the moment :). I have been going back and forth between starting with candles and then doing a lot of research. It has finally come into my brain that I am never going to know what I want to do until I get started with it. After a while I decided that I wanted to work with candles. I buy a ton of candles and I know that I could potentially (and simply) make a living off of the candles that I could sell my family and friends alone (haha). However I have found that making candles is something that is not going to happen overnight. I've run into what I am hoping to be some common errors among newbies. I was glad to find this forum! I am hoping to not only be able to get some great advice/make some awesome connections with people who are doing the same things that I am, but to also help guide others through the rough patches :).

I'm sure you'll see a lot more posts from me!

Welcome Jamie I am a candle nut that has had to learn to make her own to avoid bankrupcy :0) I have been making them for 15yrs plus and it is exciting to see the products change and so many more options become available to us.................Yikes I so remember a time where Paraffin was the only option

Thank you Lynnz! I think starting up something when you are forced to is insanely commendable! I am really hoping to make my experiments into something. My boyfriend and I are going to be moving soon (closer to his job); however, this means that I would have to quit my current job. There are a million places to look for work where we are going, but I would really like to be able to work for myself within the next few months. Hopefully these forums will help me work out any of the kinks that I have :).
