I just registered to the forum and wanted to introduce my self. I just found the forum today and have not even started going through the posts yet. I have made a few batches of cold process soap through the years. nothing fancy, but I have been sastified with most. I am just getting back into soap making after about 6 years, and am really excited about starting again. I work full time as a nurse in a clinic, my husband has been sick for about as many years as I have been away from soaping, but he is getting better thank God. I'm sure I will enjoy the forum and learning more about the craft. I have a question about ingredients, and will find the appropriate place to post it. Just want to say Hi. :D

Welcome to The Forum! I think you'll find things have changed some in the soapmaking world.

I think lye is harder to come by locally than it was 6 years ago. I'm hearing that the last hold-out for locally procuring lye (Lowes) is discontinuing the Roebics brand.

Yes, thanks to the crystalmeth producers, we have had that problem for a while in our area. I'm not sure if our Lowes had quit carrying it yet, they were out of it a couple of nights ago, but the stock boy assured me they would be getting some more in. I have not checked back with them yet, but I do plan on stocking up if they do get it in.
