I am brand new to soap making - here's some background on me:
I live in eastern CT and on a small backyard farm. It all started with chickens and ducks, but now we've added guineas, cows and goats!
I got my goats a little over a year ago just because I wanted too, and because I suddenly had a desire to make goat milk soap. I bought Eloise and her son, Junior (who's wethered - neutered - btw) and wasn't able to start milking her last year for various reasons...mostly nerves! So I bred her to her boyfriend and this year she kidded with two beautiful does! Now I have goat milk and made my first batches almost two weeks ago.
I guess I make small batches - about 4 pounds of soap at a time. My first batch was Lavendar Sage and put into molds that say "Goat Milk" and since it went so easily I made another of Honey Almond. Last night I just made Oatmeal Milk and Honey with real honey and oatmeal and I cannot wait to get it out of the mold!
I'm excited to learn new tricks and ask my questions!
