Okay ladies if I make my own laundry soap using fels naptha soap bar, washing soda, and borax. Should this detergent be okay to use on my cloth diapers? Can I add a couple drops of essential oil to make it smell nice? This recipe was in the Duggar's book. It makes 5 gallons. Thanks for all your help. If this isn't good detergent for diapers can anyone give me a recipe that is? Thanks

Hello! I used to make a similar version of laundry detergent. I used it for nearly a year and while my clothes were clean, my whites became irreversibly gray. No amount of bleach or other detergent could render them white again. My water is hard and that may have contributed to the grayness. Yes you could add some essential oils, but they will most likely wash away. I tried lavender essential oil and it only made my laundry room smell great, not the clothes.
