help with scents

Hi
I'm pretty new to the all soap making body bath DIY stuff. I love doing it; I don't sell anything I only make stuff for myself and family for gifts. I have tried a couple of places for essential oils to scent my stuff with but have not been really wowed by anyplace in particular. The stuff I make never seems to have a stronger enough scent for me. The recipe calls for some many drops and that is what I use but it never smells as good as what I buy from other people what I am asking is any opinions’ on the best priced, most quality place to buy my scents from. What and how much to you usually uses in your items? Am I maybe just getting low quality stuff?

Also what are some good sites to get some recipes from. I want to make a min cupcake bath bubbles but have not been able to find any recipes for those yet.

hi there! I buy a lot of my scents from paige at www.soapsupplies.net and I hear from many sources that soapalooza is very good, too. http://www.soapalooza.com/ it's my opinion that you get what you pay for and the quality of scent and the ease of use is very important, that's why you want to read each soap description as it will tell you how it performs in cold process soap...if it doesn't then I suggest not buying it...I generally use .75 to 1 oz scent per 16 oz oil. (ppo)

Most suppliers will have a recommended rate of usuage, I go by that to scent my soaps.

I understand about your soap scenting, as I too have had the problem of low scent in my bars. The batch curing in the very room were I am now typing smells wonderful, I hope the smell is still there in a month or two (or three).
