First batch here.... I added the lye water to the oils, and stick blended. Came to a thin pudding like consistency almost immediately. Added my FO and color. Threw it in the mold. Now it's oozing out. Was it not at trace? Or does this just happen at thin trace? ImageUploadedBySoap Making1406946436.790791.jpg

Thanks!

Looks like it was at thin trace, next time don't pour until its a bit thicker. Not sure how you fold your paper liner but there is a technique that won't let even thin soap leak out.

Yeah, it will be fine. I would take a spatula and scrape up the leak and plop it back in the mold. I personally never spray with alcohol but if you want to, go ahead now.

Did you cut your paper liner? If you fold it right it won't do that, it makes a pocket to keep the batter in. There's a sticky thread about how to do that on the top of the cp soap making section, but basically you fold the paper as if you were wrapping the bottom of a present, where the soap loaf is the present :)

It looks like, and again I could be absolutely wrong, she laid one strip of paper one way and another paper over it like a cross. If this is the case you will almost always have leaks. Lining a mold does take a bit more time, especially when you first learn how but it is 100% worth it.

I'll check out the stickie on it. Dorymae, that's exactly how I lined it. That's what they did on the YouTube video I saw. I poured it around 10:15 last night, and it was ready to cut this morning.

Pepsi girl- here ya go! There are white dots in it... I didn't use TD, and they aren't wet. I think they may be air bubbles... I think my SB slipped out of the mixture while it was on for just a second, and incorporated a little air into it. I was going for a swirl, but was at too thin a trace.
