I'm new here.
Figured I'd introduce myself.
I retired in 2019.
Started skin and hair care product production full time shortly thereafter.
Started making soap around September 2023.
I've been lurking here for awhile now.

I'm not an artist. Very much a scientist.
I've learned so much already.
The two biggies being use 1) a 38% lye water and 2) an essential oil arrowroot powder slurry in a liquid oil that'll go into the soap.

Oh, and baseball card holders as soap storage containers.

There's more, of course, but I think those are the highlights

Welcome Larry! LEROY! Question for ya: when you refer to "38% lye water" do you mean:

38% lye concentration

OR

38% water as percent of oils?

Hopefully it is the former. Using lye concentration will give you much more consistent results as you scale recipes up and down. Water-as-percent-of-oils almost always results in way too much water for CP soap, as least for me.

I started with the later but switched to concentration after reading @Zany_in_CO posts. Even with my CP pine tar soap adventure (soap on a stick saved because the batter I saved for the in the pot swirl I intended to make thinned it out enough to smash it into the mold).
