Hello Everyone!
After many years of lurking, I decided to come out of the forum shadows and introduce myself. Hopefully, I will be able to give back to the forum as much good as I have taken--which is a lot
I'm a lifelong resident of Maryland, mother of a Kindergarten rockstar, and I love to make stuff. I started making soap in 1989-1990 under my grandmother's tutelage. She made cold process soap out of lard and used cooking oils. Not once did she ever mention "superfat" or "lye discount". After Granny died, I was left alone and reached out for Susan Cavitch's book
These days, I make hot process soap (only), body butters, candles, and anything else my little hands find to do. And, I'm eagerly anticipating the new season of Scandal.
