I have been lurking for over a month now and have decided to finally introduce myself. I am new to soaping but have been reading about it for years. So instead of thinking about it, last week I order supplies from Brambleberry and they came today. I plan on making my first batch in a couple days after I get distilled water and olive oil.

More about me. I am a stay at home mom of 3 (19, 14 and 11). Now that the kids are older I have been experimenting with hobbies that interested me when they were younger, but I never had the time. This year I have been learning to sew and I fell in love with crocheting. Next up cold process soap!

Beside the hubby and kids, I have 3 dogs, 2 cats, 5 ferrets, 5 chickens and a guinea pig.

I have chickens too! You should look up a recipe for shampoo bars with egg. I haven't done it yet, but it is on my list. 5 chickens...that means about 3 dozen eggs a week...I have 5 in the yard and 10 little ones ( 3 weeks old) in the garage.

Mine are still too young to be laying. I think on will be within the next month. I also think its possible 3 are roosters, but I think I will wait until they crow or lay an egg lol.
