Hi there,
Was lurking around looking for my old Soap Forum and could not find it. I found this one that seems great and decided to join. I have been making soap for about 15 years and run a part time mini soap company from my home. I live on a farm with a husband, two dogs and two horses. We are completely off-grid. Other hobbies I have are knitting, spinning and riding. I am glad to have found all of you! :D

Welcome. There are a lot of good people here and a lot of fellow Canadians too.

Welcome fellow Canuck! I live in B.C. on an acreage with dogs, cats and chickens. Isn't farm life wonderful! :D :D Off-the-grid is a lot of work.......good for you.

Hi there fellow Canadian! I also live in BC but I'm in a small city on the Sunshine Coast. You are definately my hero to be off the grid - I would love to be able to do that!

hello Appaloosa

I just joined today also! Everyone here sounds so friendly and the posts have been so helpful to me so far. I am new to the whole soap and bath and body world, but I am excited to learn. You would be surprised how many of your Canadian girls come down South to play softball. My daughter has had several college teamates from up your way. Her friend Brooke has the funniest story about the first time she tried okra. I am guessing that is not a common Canadian food.

Hello Scout. Where in the U.S. are you? No, okra isn't a common food up here although it is available sometimes in the supermarkets.

Welcome aboard.

I am from Oklahoma Gardener. A small town right smack between Oklahoma City and Tulsa.

Okra is definately not a common food in Canada. I have seen it but I have never had it. Middle kid is a chef. I will ask him if he has ever had it but I doubt it.

I saw on tv recently that Banana Splits are less common in Canada as well. I never thought about that and it made me start to think about how many times I have actually eaten one. I could probably count on one hand and hubby says the same. I asked the youngest (18 this year) and he said he had never had one. Weird.

I think okra is common in the south because it has to have pretty hot weather to grow well.
