Hello everyone,

My name is Nakia Pearson and I'm thrilled to be joining this amazing community of soap makers! I’m from sunny Los Angeles, where I’ve recently started diving into the world of soap making and I’m loving every step of the journey so far.
I’ve always had a passion for creating things by hand and after experimenting with a few DIY soap recipes, I decided to explore this art more seriously. I’m excited to learn from all of you and share my experiences as I continue to develop my skills.
I’m particularly interested in learning more about natural ingredients, colorants and scents and of course, perfecting my technique for a beautiful lather. I’d love to connect with other soap makers, share tips and hear about your favorite recipes or challenges you’ve faced. Looking forward to being part of this fantastic forum!

Hi Nakia,

Welcome, if you start reading posts in the beginners forum and take notes, most of the information you mentioned is there for the taking or you can use the search engine at the top right hand side of the page..You can't take everything in without writing it down.

Welcome Nakia. I was from Whittier all my life until two months ago. You are from a great city for bulk supplies if they did not all close up during covid. I know my favorite bulk shea supplier closed who was downtown LA.

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome it’s wonderful to feel so embraced by this community!

@Relle I appreciate the tip about the beginners' forum and taking notes I’ll definitely be diving in there and making good use of the search engine. Writing things down is such a great way to retain all the valuable information shared here.

@AliOop , @bookworm42, and @dmcgee5034 Thank you for the kind words and encouragement! I’m really looking forward to learning and growing alongside such a helpful group of soap makers. 😊

@cmzaha It’s amazing to hear from someone with a connection to the area! That’s such a great point about LA being a hub for supplies I’ll have to explore and see what’s still available. It’s a shame about the downtown shea supplier hopefully, there are still a few gems left to discover.

Looking forward to connecting more with everyone and sharing this journey together.
