If I wanted to half a recipe it seems all I would do is chop the numbers in half... Am I right in assuming this? :problem:
 
Theoretically, yes, you can, but from a practical standpoint, I wouldn't.. The numbers for the original recipe will have some rounding error and you never know if there's a typo or whatever. I agree with the others -- run it through your favorite soap recipe calculator just to be sure.
 
I halved the recipe I made today (my first bar) and I put the recipe through brambleberry's calculator just to be sure. The calculator gave me ever so slightly different numbers than if I had just chopped it in half. I have absolutely no idea if it affected my outcome at all because I'm a total newbie at this. Good luck.
 
I made a quad batch once, ran it though the calc first, numbers were just a bit different so I used the new numbers. But it turned out fine.
