guild membership

I am considering joining the Handcrafted Soapmakers Guild and wondering if others have found the benefits worth the cost. I understand most of the cost is for insurance, but what other benefits are there? Has anyone formed an LLC? In my state this is fairly inexpensive and does provide some protection from lawsuits. Thoughts??

I do belong to the guild. I'm sure there are other benefits than the insurance, but I don't take advantage of them.

After Christmas I'm going to join Indie Business. From what ive read on their facebook page and website, they seem to offer quite a bit. Both the guild and indie have similar insurance. I want both memberships, so I don't know which one I'll choose for next years insurance.
