Really appreciate the information on this site. I've never made soap. I want to learn melt and pour so I can help occupy my sister's mind while she's going through a rough time. I also realized, as I was reading information here, that I could make soap for myself that wasn't perfumed/scented. I wake up almost every morning with a migraine and certain but not all scents bother me.
I'm going to a local community college for jewelry making.
I also teach how to make hypertufa (mix of portland cement, sand and peat moss) planters and leaf castings. Billie

Hi Billie!

Welcome to the forum! :D

I'm sorry to hear your sister is going through a rough time. I hope making melt and pour will help her. I don't know if you've seen the tutorial on how to make gemstone soaps but here's the link to it. Since you make jewelry, you might really enjoy making these with your sister.

I think it's interesting that you teach how to make hypertufa. My sister and I have discussed making our own planters, researched it and then never went any further with it.

Hazel, Thanks for the link to the gemstone soaps. I'll take a look at it later. Regarding hypertufa planters, it's easy. If you need any points or help let me know. I have a handout for my classes and I'll send it to you.

Laura, She's sick so I want easy projects. She's going to donate them.

Irishlass, You've got a good eye, yes those are some of my pots. I made small ones for friends for Christmas and filled them with wrapped candy or seed packages or candles depending on their interests. This year maybe we'll do small planters filled with soap!
Thanks all for the welcome. Billie

Thank you for the offer. I'd love to have a handout. It would be fun to make planters. Is it possible to send it by PM?

Don't forget to add a candle, bath pouf and fizzies. :D Bath fizzies or bombs are easy to make. Perhaps you and your sister could make some as another project.

Hazel, I sent you a pm.
Bath fizzies or bombs??? Now I've got more reading to do. Didn't know you could make fizzies. I have a sand blast cabinet and could etch some glass containers and add fizzies. Thanks for the suggestions. I really appreciate it. Billie
