Hi Everyone

I am very new to soap making and have only found your forum tonight. There seems to be a wealth of information here so I look forward to reading heaps, and asking questions when I'm still puzzled.

We moved from suburbia to 44 acres only a few months ago, and part of our fun here are our dairy goats - using the milk for cheese and now soap making.

So far I have made a couple of batches of goats milk soap using fresh milk - still trying to get it right.

Hi Gouldie,

Welcome to the forum! :D

I'd love to be able to live out in the country. I'd be thrilled just to have a couple of acres. I've only used buttermilk and cream in soap but there have been many discussions about goat milk in the CP section which you might find helpful.

Welcome Gouldie

There are a few Aussies that pop in here from time to time, although lately not so much, so if you need any help with suppliers etc, just ask.

Hello Judy, Hazel and Relle

Thank you for your welcome. :) Currently have batch no. 5 on the go - hopefully more successful than batch no. 4.

Batch No 5 ALWAYS works out better than batch No 4 and Batch No 6 always works out better than 5 :) . Just keep on going.

Jingz Relle...

I am a bit thick. I didn't twig that you were from Australia as well when you mentioned suppliers etc. I've found a few online places already for moulds, and have found a local supplier for palm and coconut oil at good prices. At this stage, I'm making a very basic soap with palm oil, coconut oil, olive oil, goats milk and caustic soda. It's just getting the method right!!

:)
