My first unrefined shea butter from soaper's choice was great.
I ordered another 10 # and started to make whipped body butter, when I noticed it is all grainy ( I don't heat up the butter).I made another batch...grainy again, I tested the butter in the box and sure enough, the batch is grainy, meaning I can't use it for unheated whipped butter, if I heat the butter,it comes out fine, but it is annoying. Is it normal to have grainy shea butter from out of the package? Or did something go wrong, when they packaged it?
Thanks :)

I haven't tried Soapers Choice shea in years, and the it was the refined, but it was grainy.

From what I've read, many are satisfied with it for making soap with, but not for other applications.

yes, I use it for all my soaps, but I was also using it for other products.
But if I heat it up, it works just fine

I always melt my shea butter - refined or not. Even the refined gets grainy if it isn't melted down.

I've gone thru four ten pound boxes from CF - all were grainy.. I haven't been a fan of wsp lately, but this shea whips beautifully and that price hasn't been jacked up as bad as some of their other items.. I don't do tons of b&b, but a simple whipped shea 60%, oils 40% and it kept its smoothness, looked a day old when it was a year old.

Our Shea from Soapers Choice is always grainy. It is really hard to get it to not return to being grainy after being melted. Soap it is fine, anything else it is difficult at times.
