I was just reading through my oldest posts and I was talking about making lotion. Someone said not to use glycerin, which I guess I hadn't seen on the first reading.

I just did a little research on glycerin's negative effects on skin and found an article about how it draws moisture from the lower levels of the skin and makes them stay on the surface. HOWEVER, I also found some sites that listed the benefits of using glycerin on skin. I will note, that the negative glycerin article was more recent than the pro articles.

Thoughts anyone?

Glycerine attracts moisture, but also can pull moisture out of your skin as you said. It's safe and beneficial to use in leave on products in concentrations up to 5%, in rinse off like soap that's 20% or more.
