Does anyone add Glycerine to their soap formulas? I know that handmade soap has glycerine in it naturally but is there any reason to add more?

I don't think there is any reason to add glycerin unless you come up with a special recipe.

i only add it to one recipe that i copied of a brand soap that had it in its recipe, but as lsg stated there is really no need for it unless you got a special recipe.

Thanks. That is what I thought. I only asked because I accidentally purchased two bottles of it and now don't really know how to use it.

You can use it to make liquid soap. That recipe is easy and fast and it is the method I use.

I believe there is a method of combining cp soap and glycerin to make a mostly-transparent soap, try doing a search.

If you have any KOH try the glycerin method for liquid soap as lsg suggested.

Mix it with rose water or orange blossom water or lavender water (and a teensy bit of preservative) for a super easy light moisturizer.

Make shaving soap.

I take back what I said a couple of posts up. I also make liquid soap with glycerin, duh (I had only bar soap on my mind when I wrote earlier).
